AAP Officially Breaks from the CDC on Childhood Vaccines

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released its official childhood immunization recommendations, making clear that it is diverging from the newly revised guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, “The AAP recommends that all children receive vaccines for hepatitis A and B, Covid-19, influenza, rotavirus and meningococcal disease, which causes meningitis and other infections. The immunizations were dropped from the CDC’s schedule for all children.”
With two of the nation’s most influential public authorities no longer aligned on critical childhood health issues, the divergence can be confusing and unsettling for parents and caregivers.
